CONFIGURATION

eduroam parameters for students — Android

Parameter Value
SSID eduroam
EAP method TTLS
Phase 2 authentication PAP
CA certificate Use system certificates if this option is available
Domain radius.uwb.edu.pl — if the phone displays or requires this field
Identity / username student_number@student.uwb.edu.pl
Anonymous identity leave blank
Password current student password
User certificate none
Important — the Domain field is not the student's login domain.

If the phone displays a Domain field, enter:

radius.uwb.edu.pl

The student username is still:

student_number@student.uwb.edu.pl

Do not enter student.uwb.edu.pl in the Domain field.

Android 8–15 — configuration differences

Note: the screenshots below may show an older Android interface. Field names and layout may differ on newer phones. Use the parameter tables above as the authoritative configuration.

The eduroam settings screen depends not only on the Android version but also on the phone manufacturer. Some field names and available options may therefore differ.

Android 8 / 9 / 10

  • EAP method: TTLS
  • Phase 2: PAP
  • Username: student_number@student.uwb.edu.pl
  • Anonymous identity: leave blank
  • User certificate: none
On some Android 8–10 devices the Domain field may not be displayed. If it is not present, you do not need to find or complete it.

If the phone displays a Domain field and requires a value, enter:

radius.uwb.edu.pl

If Use system certificates is available, select it.

Some older devices may still offer Do not validate. This is an older configuration interface.

Android 11

  • EAP method: TTLS
  • Phase 2: PAP
  • Username: student_number@student.uwb.edu.pl
  • Anonymous identity: leave blank
  • User certificate: none

Android 11 may use different configuration screens depending on the phone manufacturer and installed system updates.

If the following fields are available, use:

  • CA certificate: Use system certificates
  • Domain: radius.uwb.edu.pl

Some Android 11 devices may still display the older Do not validate option.

Android 12

Android 12 requires proper server certificate validation for Enterprise Wi-Fi configuration.

  • EAP method: TTLS
  • Phase 2: PAP
  • CA certificate: Use system certificates
  • Domain: radius.uwb.edu.pl
  • Username: student_number@student.uwb.edu.pl
  • Anonymous identity: leave blank
  • Password: current student password
  • User certificate: none
For Android 12 do not follow an older “Do not validate” configuration if the system requires a CA certificate and domain.

Android 13 / 14 / 15

  • EAP method: TTLS
  • Phase 2: PAP
  • CA certificate: Use system certificates
  • Domain: radius.uwb.edu.pl
  • Username: student_number@student.uwb.edu.pl
  • Anonymous identity: leave blank
  • Password: current student password
  • User certificate: none

Some devices may provide Trust on First Use (TOFU). If the phone allows system certificates and a Domain field, the preferred configuration is:

CA certificate: Use system certificates
Domain: radius.uwb.edu.pl

Android 14 and 15 may display additional settings such as minimum TLS version or online certificate status. If the phone does not display these fields, no additional setting is required.

Troubleshooting

If eduroam does not connect:

  1. Remove / forget the saved eduroam network.
  2. Add the network again using the current instructions.
  3. Verify: EAP = TTLS.
  4. Verify: Phase 2 = PAP.
  5. On Android 12–15 select Use system certificates.
  6. If the phone displays a Domain field, enter: radius.uwb.edu.pl.
  7. Verify that the username has the form: student_number@student.uwb.edu.pl.
  8. Do not enter initials or letters before the student number.
  9. Leave Anonymous identity blank.
  10. Enter the current student password.

If eduroam was configured previously

Open the Wi-Fi settings, select the saved eduroam network and choose Forget / Remove network. Then configure the connection again using the settings below.
